TAKING A BITE OUT OF THE “BIG APPLE”

I hit NYC yesterday as I begin my six week media tour for the release of my cookbook and television show. As I boarded the plane from Vegas to NYC I had no idea that the “Chef Jeff Project” had reached the friendly skies….30,000 feet into the air a promo for the “Chef Jeff Project” came on the in-flight satellite TV on the Food Network channel. The lady sitting next to me said…”Is that you”, I was saying the same damn thing “is that me”…LOL.

That was just one of many eye opening experiences for me. I landed in NY and headed to my hotel in the village…another surprise. Right across the street from the Food Network HQ building, there it was…a huge billboard advertising the show, me and the 6 crew members from the “Chef Jeff Project” plastered on the side of a building, it was amazing. In my wildest dreams I never imagined this.

Pick up my cookbook “Chef Jeff Cooks” in stores today!

Follow my life’s journey Wednesday (Oct 8) on “My Life in Food” on the Food Network channel.

Come out to my book signing at Howard University on Thursday (Oct 9), contact the Howard book store for times and details.

Check me out cooking on “Good Morning America” this Friday (Oct 10).

NYC, come see me cook BBQ Shrimp Scampi at “Circle of Sisters” at the Javitz Center this Saturday (Oct 11)and meet my special guest who will prepare dessert for the ladies, you won't want to miss this!

I will also be coming to a book store near you, check the events tab on my website for dates and locations.

Until next time, Bon Appetit.

I watched your show the day after my baby cousin went back to jail. He is a young black man who can't seem to find his way. I am off to the bookstore to buy your book Cooked so I can send it to him. Hopefully your story will be as inspirational to him as it is to me.
As I watched My Life In Food, all I could think was how proud I am of you. I hope that doesn't sound strange coming from someone who has never met you.
I am so proud of how you changed your life and how you use all you blessings and opportunities to help others.
You are truly a great man. Thank you!

I watched your "Life in Food" yesterday (Wednesday 10/08/08) and ordered two (2) copies of your book "Cooked" immediately. My dad has had problems like you had and cannot get a real job and I bought your book (two copies for the both of us to read) hoping to help inspire him that he can lead a better life. He had put in many job applications and everyone keeps turning him down, he is 54 and so tired of being an auto mechanic, been in and out of jail for drugs and is trying so hard to pull through and your story inspired me to be the person what I want to be, but also to show my dad he still has time to be the person he wants to be...a normal 9-5 worker, with benefits, etc...THANK YOU SO MUCH! I cannot wait till we both get the book. We are still working to help get him the help he needs...my dad is truly a wonderful man that deserves a chance like everyone else. I just had to let you know how much you have helped me help my dad...

I saw your show and you are doing what has been in my heart for awhile now. Good for you. I am not a professional chef..but love food and love to cook for others. I truely belive that food is a bridge that can bring people from different backgrounds together. I have a passion for teaching young people to cook and to create...and feel along with others that the way to heal and help our community and the city of Memphis is through our youth....God bless you and I hope to find someone to help me start a similar program here. Thanks for the inspiration and I will always be a fan!

Jeff,
I just watched your show The Chef Jeff Project. I love how you have taken your past experiences and want to make a change in the world.I meet so many moms that don't know how to cook and it makes me sad.Basic cooking is a skill every one needs especialy if they have children.I want to teach them all I am not old I am 30 and I do believe food can make a difference in the world. I cook for my family, church, and any one in need they always ask for the recipe or if I would ever go into catering.I love to cook and one day I want to open up a restraunt or a school where parents can bring their kids to learn to cook. If they learn at a young age they will be inspired to cook when they get older. Well I love how you are making a difference thank you for you inspiration, not judging, and most of all not forgetting where you came from. Thank you Heather from Billings, Mt
